Denver Single-Stair Housing Challenge Competition

The Mile High Mid-Rise seeks to challenge conventional housing design by rethinking the current code restrictions in relation to urban sprawl and density. The number of occupants and amount of area currently allowed by code is grossly unsafe when compared to single stair housing. This housing typology can contribute to thoughtful and attractive alternatives that push the boundaries of housing solutions. The Mile High Mid-Rise provides an alternative affordable housing solution that utilizes a small infill site in a walkable/bikeable neighborhood atypical from the common single-family or large-scale projects.
